OneSoil Scouting is a free application that lets you monitor crop performance, mark problem areas and check weather forecasts. All you need is a smartphone with Internet access to monitor your farm whenever and wherever you are.
The OneSoil Scouting app is perfect for farm owners, managers and workers, agricultural consultants, and machinery operators. It is based on multispectral satellite imagery analysis.
Functionality
1) Monitoring crop performance
The app automatically delineates the boundaries of your field on the map. Then, it defines the vegetation index (NDVI) within a specific area – so you see how the field splits into different colored sections depending on crop growth.
If the weather is cloudless, the NDVI reports are updated every 3-5 days. If it’s impossible to calculate NDVI due to the weather, we will show you a short note while viewing the field images.
2) Getting all field info together
There are field cards for every field you save. You can use it to store yield information, add and edit crops, and monitor the weather in the field. To open the card, just choose the field and swipe up.
3) Adding field notes
Choose the type of alert (disease, parasites, water, weeds, lodging) or create a blank agricultural note. Then, write a comment, add a photo if you wish, and press "save". Notes appear on the map as dots.
They can be added both remotely from the office or in the field while you are scouting. In the latter case, the application will determine your exact geolocation. The coordinates of notes can be sent to other app users.
The web version can be found by the link–app.onesoil.ai. Both versions automatically synchronize, so you have access to your notes and field marks across all devices.
4) Staying on top of things
With our personalized feed “Insights”, you can view the updates of the vegetation index for any of your fields at a glance, check the weather forecasts and get recommendations on the best time for spraying. The "Insights" tab also includes educational articles and tutorials. There are lots of tips over there already, go for a scroll!
How does it work
OneSoil team manually marked thousands of fields, then, based on the collected information, a special machine learning algorithm was taught to allocate them independently.
